It's a a battle for 2nd place this week, as Oakland sits 2 games ahead of LAAAAAAAAA in the race to place . Brett Anderson takes the ball for our side, to be opposed by the A's sometimes-nemesis Ervin Santana.The book on the Halos' season hasn't exactly been the feel-good story of the summer.Of course the season is effectively over, with the A's having been eliminated from playoff contention by the AL West champion Texas Rangers this past weekend, but there's still a lot to play for specifically to finish at or above .500 for the first time since 2006 J.B. Wendelken Jersey. To do that and to go into the offseason having shown an improvement over the results of the last 3 years, our boys will have to have a winning road trip through Anaheim and Seattle. They'll also have to make it to the finish line without Coco Crisp and Andrew Bailey, who are done for the year. Heck, we won't even get to see Jerry Blevins for the final week.
